If you’ve been following the podcast, you already know who Liberty Speidel is. If you haven’t, she’s the author of The Darby Shaw Chronicles, the superhuman detective stories we’ve been reviewing for our last three episodes. On today’s show, you get to learn a lot more about her and little bit about what’s coming for Darby Shaw! In true wrambling fashion, our conversation included everything from Donald Trump to Star Wars.
We also discussed R.B.N. Bookmark’s A Minger’s Tale: Beginnings. You can read R.F.’s full written review of the book on his website.

Cool interview.
The only potential downside I see with a Mark story is that it would just be a police story, rather than a superhuman police story. Though it would admittedly still be set in te future. It would definitely be interesting to see this world explored wider with some other characters, though.
Regarding Daleks and Artoo, the biggest difference is that Daleks are not actually robots, they’re alien mutants riding around in a tank. As a kid though, I think I noticed the somewhat visual similarity between them.

I’m right with on the Mark story, Adam! I love Mark but a story with only him would lose a lot of the superhuman element. Maybe… Either way, I hope Liberty writes some stories in this world focusing on other characters like she mentioned she might.
